What is a recurring gift?

A recurring gift is an ongoing donation you choose to make automatically (typically monthly or annually) using your credit card, debit card or bank account. It’s an easy way to provide consistent support for the area you care about most.

What is the recurring gift match program?

From July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, new indefinite recurring gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar through a $100,000 Vision Fund match. The Vision Fund supports innovation and strategic priorities for UNI.

The funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on when indefinite recurring gifts are established. Once all the funds have been allocated, any additional gifts will not be matched.

Who is eligible for the match?

The match applies to new indefinite recurring gifts established between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. This includes:

First-time donors
Donors starting an indefinite recurring gift for the first time
Donors converting from one-time giving to indefinite recurring giving

Not eligible: Gifts in which you receive benefits in return. Examples include the Ever Loyal Club and Friends of the Gallagher Bluedorn.

How does the match work? When are the funds applied?

Your indefinite recurring gift is matched based on its full 12-month value (annualized amount), no matter when you start during the year.

Matching funds will be applied after June 30, 2027, once all eligible recurring gifts are finalized and calculated. Your impact is counted as soon as you create your indefinite recurring gift, even though matching funds are applied later.

Do I have to give monthly?

No. While monthly giving is most common, you may choose other recurring frequencies (such as annually). Your match will reflect the total of your full-year commitment.

Indefinite recurring gifts are ongoing, but you remain in control. You can change, pause or stop your gift at any time.

How do I set up an indefinite recurring gift and choose where it goes?

You can direct your indefinite recurring gift and its match to the fund, college or program that matters most to you. Gifts may be established online or through a mailed solicitation. However, only online indefinite recurring gifts are eligible for this matching gift initiative.

Why is the match based on a full year of giving?

The match is based on a full year of giving to ensure fairness and maximize impact. This approach allows donors who start later in the year to receive the full benefit of the match while recognizing the long-term value of sustained support through recurring giving.

Can I change or cancel my recurring gift?

Yes, you may update your amount, payment method or cancel your indefinite recurring gift at any time. Your recurring gift will continue after June 30, 2027, unless you choose to make a change. Please note that changes to your gift may affect the amount eligible for matching. You will also receive documentation for each gift as it is processed for tax purposes.
