This award recognizes an individual or a couple, no older than 50 years of age, who have provided philanthropic support and creative leadership to the university.
Kevin Zaugg, ’96
Kevin Zaugg, a 1996 accounting graduate, is a managing partner of the Ernst & Young accounting office in Des Moines and a proud UNI alum. In 2022, Kevin led the charge to support the newly created Ernst & Young Accounting Endowed Faculty Fellowship, a position he and other partners have committed to grow into a professorship. In addition to funding the fellowship, Kevin and another UNI partner in Des Moines office, Chris Yuska, continue to support the Ernst & Young Accounting Scholarship.
Kevin is a member of the Presidents Club and Campanile Society. He has also given his time as an accounting alumni-in-residence in the Wilson College of Business. He served two terms on the Accounting Advisory Council, providing guidance on curriculum, student recruiting, fundraising and more.
Kevin comes to campus each fall to host a highly anticipated student accounting event: the Ernst & Young trivia night. Now a tradition that is both fun and informative for students, UNI Business faculty have said that the event is the highlight of fall recruiting events. Ernst & Young also hosts UNI Accounting Club trips to Des Moines on a regular basis.
Due largely to Kevin's guidance, Ernst & Young is the second largest recruiter of UNI accounting students. Kevin is married to his wife, Jennifer, and has three girls.
