Student Spotlight: Destiny Dixon
Thanks to support from scholarship donors, students like Destiny Dixon are thriving at UNI both in and out of the classroom. Destiny, a junior from Davenport, Iowa, is studying art education with a minor in TESOL (Teaching), and her passion for creativity has already led to exciting ventures on campus and beyond.
An entrepreneur at heart, Destiny founded CharmCharmz of Destiny Ari’e, an online art shop where she sells original artwork and jewelry. She sells her creations at vendor fairs and continues to grow her business through UNI’s R.J. McElroy Student Business Incubator, which has allowed her to develop her ideas and gain real-world business experience.
Destiny is also active in campus organizations, including Movement Dance Team and Prolific Magazine. These experiences have helped her expand her leadership skills, build meaningful friendships, and grow personally and professionally.
Thanks to scholarship support to UNI, Destiny is the proud recipient of the Mary Haskell-Hansen Art Education Endowed Scholarship and the H.W. Reninger Endowed Scholarship.
My scholarships have given me the freedom to be an active member of student organizations on campus and allowed me to have the full college experience with less financial stress.
