This award recognizes the extraordinary, long-time support of an individual or couple who have had a significant and inspiring impact on UNI. This award is designed to honor those who have provided long-term substantial and loyal philanthropic support that has transformed the university.

Stan & Rose Lorenz

‌Rose began working at University Book and Supply right after high school, working her way up to the position of president/CEO before retirement. Under Rose’s leadership, the bookstore consistently supported UNI and set up the UBS Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award for young faculty from each of the academic colleges. An active and highly respected member of the Cedar Valley community, she joined the UNI Foundation Board in 2005, served as chair of the board from 2011–2013 and was one of the Students First campaign’s most active volunteers. She also served on the Cedar Falls Utilities board and is a member of the College Hill Neighborhood Association.
